History of Palace of Education and Social Economics:

The Palace of Education and Social Economy was a beautiful structure of classic Grecian architecture. On all four sides there were magnificent columns that created a grand promenade. The building covered eight acres and was accessed by several attractive bridges. Designed by Eames and Young, it cost $400,000 to build.

The purpose of the Palace of Education and Social Economy was to exhibit teaching methods from kindergarten to college including schools showing ways of teaching deaf, mute, and blind students. There was a model lecture hall, a complete laboratory and a commercial school in operation. In addition, technical, agricultural, industrial, and fine art schools were featured.

The west entrance to the palace provided a place to rest and enjoy a view of the Grand Basin.
